Carvalho picked up the problem during Sunday's 1-1 draw with Everton at Stamford Bridge. The Portuguese international was forced out of the action in the first half and he is due to undergo a scan on the injury on Monday. Blues boss Avram Grant is sweating over the fitness of Carvalho with John Terry, Petr Cech and Paulo Ferreira already on the sidelines. "He will have a scan on a back injury on Monday and then we will know how bad it is," said Grant. "We have too many injuries.
