Within hours of attending Chelsea's FA Youth Cup match at Brighton on Tuesday evening, Arnesen was heading to catch a plane to Philadelphia where he will be attending the 59th Annual NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) Convention. Chelsea has had strong links with the United States over the past couple of years and toured there in consecutive pre-seasons. Now the man who will oversee the future development of young talent at Chelsea has been asked to give one of the keynote lectures at the four-day convention. Arnesen will be speaking for 75 minutes on Friday and then fielding questions on his vision for player development and recruitment scouting. Chelsea's Football in the Community director, Shaun Gore, will also be attending the event at Philadelphia's Pennsylvania Convention Center. He will make a demonstration on training methods. Arnesen, who has also made a presentation to a group of Russian coaches recently, says of the US visit: “It takes a lot of time but at the moment Chelsea are doing very well and we have to benefit from that by showing what we are doing. It is very important for fans all over the world to get a view of what we are doing, not only on the pitch but also in the development of youth. That is always in the shadow but very important. “We would like to make soccer the most important game in America, like it is all over the rest of world.
