Coach Brendan Rodgers says: “We had good possession in the first- half, and in the second-half produced seven shots on target. We were unfortunate not to get more than one goal. I was very pleased with the performance. Again, another team has failed to get a shot on target against us.” The goal climaxed a good move. “There was a terrific sequence of passes which eventually led to Liam Bridcutt playing Scott Sinclair in wide on the left, and he supplied an excellent cross which Shaun Cummings finished well inside the box.” It was his third goal of the season. Of especial pleasure to Brendan is the timing of the win. “We were there at the same time last year just before the Youth Cup and lost 3-2. This year we never gave them a kick of the ball. I thought we passed them off the pitch.” Last year we lost 2-1 to Colchester in the third round of the FA Youth Cup. On Monday week we visit Norwich at the same stage.
