The youth team had to play without two more mumps victims, Ryan Bertrand and Shaun Cummings following Michael Mancienne who suffered last month. Millwall fielded a truly enormous side, big, solid defenders, and when their coach cried: “Pass it, pass it…” they passed it 50 miles in the air. Chelsea also had a tall back line but nothing compared to the visitors, and certainly not over the rest of the park. There was loud leadership from Sam Hutchinson, filling in at left-back, to the back line, and there was little threat from Millwall. There was little more at the other end, substitute Saarelma trying to lob the keeper when through and Sinclair going close being the best chances. Central defender Worley was the only Chelsea boy booked.
