The charismatic Italian finally vanquished The Gunners when it mattered, as Wayne Bridge's late goal at Highbury earned a last four showdown with Monaco. Chelsea had trailed at half time to a Jose Antonio Reyes goal but Frank Lampard dragged the visitors level before Bridge's dramatic intervention. Ranieri was full of praise for his team's performance and admits a few soothing words at the break aided Chelsea's cause. "Fantastic," beamed Ranieri. "The players believed in this victory. It was important to stay calm. "I said to them `Don't worry, we can score', and the second half was fantastic. A great performance. "It was good because we wanted to win. We wanted to finish this winless run of matches against Arsenal." The introduction of Jesper Gronkjaer at the interval changed the course of the game with Ranieri's more attacking approach reaping dividends. "It was the right moment to try to do something more," he added. "The first half we wanted to close the space and go on the counter-attack but we were a little bit nervous at the beginning. "The second half we were 1-0 down so I wanted to put Gronkjaer on because he is very quick on the flank." With Chelsea boasting an outstanding chance of reaching the Champions League final, the questions regarding Ranieri's future at Stamford Bridge are unlikely to cease. Despite being under pressure for the entire campaign, and tipped to lose his job in the summer, Ranieri insists he has a great relationship with the club. He continued: "I don't know [about my future]. I am focusing on this season, that is important for me, the club and everyone. That is my way.
