The Celtics are finishing a deal for free agent guard Evan Turner, sources
tell the Herald.
Turner will get a portion of the C's mid-level exception.
Turner, a 6-foot-7 forward, has averaged 11.1 points and 5.3 rebounds in his
four years in the league. Last season, he averaged 14.0 points, 5.0 rebounds
and 3.2 assists while splitting time between the Philadelphia 76ers and the
Indiana Pacers. Turner started all 54 games with the Sixers and averaged a
career-high 17.4 points per game before being traded to the Pacers, where he
came off the bench.
Turner, 25, was taken as the second overall pick out of Ohio State by the
Sixers in 2010.
