Boston Celtics coach Brad Stevens, who went his first 56 NBA games without a
technical foul, got his money's worth for his first.
Stevens appeared to calmly remark on the officiating in the final minute of
Saturday's 105-98 loss to the Sacramento Kings and was ejected with 35
seconds to play.
Both Stevens and Gerald Wallace got tossed in that final minute. After
Wallace got the gate, Stevens calmly put the cap on his marker, put down his
clipboard, and said something to referee Marc Davis, who immediately
delivered the technical and ejection.
Stevens left the court promptly, but not before first motioning to Kings
coach Mike Malone to congratulate him on the win.

Stevens later told reporters that this was his first ejection at any level of
coaching (though he did earn technicals at Butler). He would not elaborate on
what he said to Davis.
Asked about Stevens' first technical and ejection, Gerald Wallace told
reporters, "I'm happy for him. Welcome to the NBA."
