Kevin Garnett is "ready to play" according to Celtics' president Danny Ainge,
but it is still unknown whether or not he will play Friday against the Spurs,
or Saturday against Memphis. "Just by the way he's moving, he looks fresh and
healthy. We're still playing it by ear. We're still waiting to see what's
going to happen. I'm confident that he will be back [soon]," said Ainge. With
a good shootaround, Garnett could find himself on the court, but keep in mind
the Celtics are going to play it safe.

Ray Allen (elbow) traveled with the Celtics to San Antonio could return to
action on Friday against the Spurs. Traveling to the game doesn't necessarily
mean he'll play, but it is a positive sign. We should have more concrete word
on his status prior to tipoff.

Coach Doc Rivers announced on Wednesday that Leon Powe will miss 2-3 weeks
with a sprained right knee. Powe had established considerable value with
Kevin Garnett sidelined, but now it looks like time to sever ties with the
waiver wire gem unless you're playing in a much deeper league. Glen Davis
(ankle) will return to action on Wednesday and gets the start at power
forward.

according to the San Antonio-Express News. Duncan looks like he might be
getting the Shaq treatment on back-to-back games for the rest of the season,

time closely, since any stretch of action that is prohibitive will almost
certainly be countered by time off.
