First-year Celtics star forward Kevin Garnett will miss his first game of
the season with an abdominal strain today against the Magic,
according to Boston coach Doc Rivers. Garnett missed part of the fourth
quarter of the Celtics' 87-86 win over the Wolves last Friday with
the injury that he said has been bothering him recently.
Rivers also said that Garnett could miss Tuesday's game at Miami.
Forward Brian Scalabrine will start in Garnett's place.
