Anderson Varejao's agent, Dan Fegan, made his first comments to the medi a about the standoff with the Cavs to ESPN.com last week. He said Varejao an d the Cavs were at an impasse, especially with the Cavs refusing to offer Va rejao any sort of one-year deal at this point. Fegan said he wanted to bring in an unbiased third-party mediator to broker the talks, but such a thing is unheard of in the NBA, and the Cavs likely will not agree to it. He also sug gested that Varejao might sign with a Spanish League team soon if there's no deal. An agent that represents players in Europe said Varejao could probably get a contract that would pay him about $2 million for the rest of the Europ ean season. The Cavs are believed to have offered Varejao a deal that starts at about $6 million.
