Blanchett has won rave reviews for the Hepburn role in The Aviator, and co-star DiCaprio added his support to her best supporting actress bid. Asked whether Blanchett should win the Oscar, DiCaprio said: "Absolutely. She's a chameleon ?she's the Meryl Streep of our time." DiCaprio is also set to be nominated for his portrayal of billionaire recluse Howard Hughes and the film, tipped to be a blockbuster, is expected to get a best film nomination. Another Aviator star, Kate Beckinsale, has also backed Blanchett. Beckinsale, who plays Ava Gardner, predicted it would be Blanchett's year after the Australian missed out several times, most notably in 1999 when she was tipped to win for Elizabeth. "I think people are dying to give it to her," Beckinsale said. "She has like hit a home run every time ? she should get it, she's great." Legendary director Martin Scorsese also praised Blanchett as "brilliant". Scorsese, who directed The Aviator, said he pushed for Blanchett to play Hepburn after his wife Helen Morris spotted her at the Golden Globe Awards in Hollywood. "My wife said, 'Kate Hepburn'.
