A ride on the carousel at the carnival is graceful and easy. The music and the beautiful horses offer a very pleasant experience. The roller coaster, on the other hand, features steep ascents followed by rapid falls and wild turns. Someone who prefers a ride on the carousel probably won't enjoy a ride on a roller coaster, and vice versa. But both riders might enjoy the Ferris wheel - it offers a different experience from both the carousel and the roller coaster.
