Son of Karlheinz Stockhausen, an influential pioneer composer of modern avant-garde music, Markus Stockhausen is one of the few truly versatile contemporary musicians, equally at home playing jazz, contemporary and classical pieces. In 1981, he won second place in the German Music Competition, and in 2005, he won the German WDR Jazz Award for best soloist. KARTA II is made up of the best players of the international jazz music world. Their music is very beautiful, like a flower as it suddenly bursts open.
