This seventh consecutive defeat sets a new club record in Serie A, beating the tally of six achieved in both 1930-31 and 1948-49. “If after seven straight losses a Coach does not get fired, then I think he should walk away,” added the 68-year-old. “We'll evaluate the situation along with the President.” If his resignation is accepted, it'll be a sad end to Mazzone's career, but at least he does so on the day he sets a new record with his 788th Serie A match, improving upon the legendary Nereo Rocco.
