The 28-year-old has put pen to paper on a Viola contract that will tie him to the outfit until June 2009. Toni, a player who scored 20 League goals for the Sicilians last term, will net just over ￡1m-a-season. "He was our principal transfer market objective," said delighted Fiorentina boss Cesare Prandelli. "He's scored 50 goals in two years and I hope that he can continue such a strike rate here with us. "He leads the line and sees the goal like few players do. We instantly agreed that he could be of use to us. "Talks were lengthy but I think the player's desire was the important factor behind the move." In other transfer news, Andre Ooijer has left PSV Eindhoven for Serie A new boys Genoa.
