He left his start four days ago after just 4 2/3 innings when the hip issue returned. Now that he is no longer on the 30-day rehab clock, he can remain on the disabled list. He has allowed 13 runs and 23 hits in his last three rehab starts for Harrisburg. One scenario would be to move him to the 60-day disabled list at that time and promote Triple-A Syracuse right-hander Christian Garcia to the 40-man roster so he can pitch for the Nationals in September. Garcia has not allowed an earned run since June and is throwing 97 mph fastballs with life. Garcia is 2-0 with a 0.79 ERA in the minors this season. This likely closes a chapter with the Wang as a National this season after some promising signs that he could return to the pitcher that had won 38 games in two seasons with the Yankees. He is a free agent after this season. In spring training, Wang had a great showing, but hamstring and hip soreness derailed his season, and he was never able to spot his pitches low in the zone as he was known to do when successful.
