Wang is now 15-6 with a 3.97 ERA, and with seven starts left in his season, he has a good chance to match his 19 victories from 2006. He won’t be in the Cy Young race, but he can certainly play a major role in the wild card race, as the Yankees find themselves two games behind the Mariners once again. Since May 7 of last year, Wang has 33 wins, the most in the majors. His ERA might not match the likes of Johan Santana, Brandon Webb or some of the league’s other top pitchers, but aren’t wins the bottom line? Wang is also 14-3 with an ERA around 3.75 since May 16, the most wins in the majors since that time.
