Extra Money: Get Your Tax Credit!
You might be able to get a tax credit if you worked in 2008, but didn't make
much money. Even if you don't owe income tax this year, you might get the
Earned Income Tax Credit.
The tax credit is based on how many children are in your home and your
income. Credits can range from $4,824 to $438.
Call the IRS at 1-800-TAX-1040(1-800-829-1040) or visit www.irs.gov to find
out if you can get the credit. The IRS also can tell you which forms you will
need to fill out to get the tax credit.
You might be able to get free help filling out tax forms. To learn more, call
2-1-1, pick a language, and then pick option 1.
