Salt Lake City — It was a long night for the undermanned Milwaukee Bucks on
the boards and in the paint Monday night at the EnergySolutions Arena, where
they were defeated by the Utah Jazz, 109-88.

The Bucks hung around for three quarters, but Utah scored the first 11 points
of the fourth quarter to take a 91-73 lead. In the end, it was Utah's 48-26
edge on the boards and their 54-18 advantage in points in the paint that were
the difference.
虽然公鹿在前三节还能紧咬爵士不放，但在缺少大个子的情况下，篮板被抢爆(48-26)

Guard Brandon Jennings led Milwaukee with 27 points, while Chris
Douglas-Roberts added 19 points and Ersan Ilyasova had 18.

Guard Deron Williams and center Al Jefferson led Utah with 22 points each.
Williams had 10 assists, and Jefferson grabbed 11 rebounds.

"We hung in there for a while," said Bucks coach Scott Skiles. "But we had a
stretch to start the third where we actually played some decent defense,
which was a struggle tonight for us as well, and got some stops, but then
they just got on the glass on us.
"At halftime, we only had three guys that had defensive rebounds on the
roster and I don't know if I've ever seen that. So they took it to us from
mid-third quarter on and we had a hard time with it."

Utah, which opened a season-long, six-game home stand, has won six straight
and leads the Northwest Division with a 14-5 record. The Bucks (6-11) have
lost nine straight in Utah.
Their last victory in Utah came on Oct. 30, 2001, in the season opener when
they beat the Jazz in overtime, 119-112, behind 32 points from Ray Allen.

"It was a nice win," Utah coach Jerry Sloan said of Monday's game. "We had
some guys come off the bench and play real well. We shot the ball pretty

Due to injuries and illness, Skiles again went with a starting lineup of
forwards Luc Richard Mbah a Moute and Ilyasova, center Larry Sanders and
guards John Salmons and Jennings.
Center Andrew Bogut was not with the team because of a back injury. Corey
Maggette and Drew Gooden were in uniform but didn't play. Maggette has been
bothered by left ankle soreness and Skiles said that Maggette had been ill
during the day. Gooden has been bothered by left plantar fasciitis.

"They're good defensively," said Sloan. "They really get up and get after
you. But they've had a lot of injuries. I think that's one of the things that
hurts any team. But they're still trying to play through it."

Utah scored six straight to take a 66-54 lead early in the second half, but
Jennings then got hot. Jennings scored 11 straight Bucks points - a jumper, a
pair of threes, and a three-point play - as the Bucks trimmed the lead to
68-65 with 6 minutes left. Utah led after three quarters, 80-73.
After Utah's 11-0 run at the start of the fourth quarter, Milwaukee's first
points of the period came on a jumper by Jennings with 7:19 left.
"We didn't have our big bodies, and the guys we had were trying their best to
get the rebounds," said Jennings. "But with (Utah) guys just flying in there
trying to tip the ball and stuff like that, it's kind of tough."
建宁说 我们缺少大个子，只能不断设法抢下篮板，但是要跟爵士的锋线对抗，实在
是有点难度。
Said Douglas-Roberts, "We couldn't get a rebound and they were executing
freely. They're already a great half-court team and if you don't take them
out of their stuff, it was just too easy for them."
跟爵士比起来 我们要抢下一个篮板都很困难 在半场防守上他们已经是非常成熟
的球队 如果你没有办法破坏他们的防守机制 抢篮板对他们来说就跟喝水一样。
Shooting 59.0%, the Jazz led at halftime, 60-52. Milwaukee shot 41.0% in the
first half.
