The veteran Britpop band may be recording its first new batch of material since 2003's "Think Tank," according to guitarist Graham Coxon's recent hints about a studio meet-up on Twitter. According to NME, Coxon wrote then deleted a post on his Twitter account yesterday (Feb. 3) that read, "Now off to see the Blur boys and have coffee and maybe switch a tape recorder on!" When asked about the meaning of the Blur-related tweet by an NME reporter, Coxon replied, "Well.. we are havin a meet up... might get a guitar out... y' know." Blur, which consists of Coxon, singer Damon Albarn, bassist Alex James and drummer Dave Rowntree, went on hiatus in 2003 after five of their seven studio albums reached No. 1 in the U.K. The band reunited in 2009 to play a string of European shows and festivals, including that year's Glastonbury Festival, but did not record any new material. The possibility of a Blur studio reunion arrives after Albarn spent much of 2010 on the road as the frontman for Gorillaz, which released its third album, "Plastic Beach," last March.
