Wig in a Box by Polyphonic Spree 10.Milford Lake by John Cameron Mitchell (acted in Hedwig and wrote the script) and Stephen Trask (acted in Hedwig and wrote the music) 11.Ladies & Gentlemen by Stephen Colbert 12.Tear Me Down by Spoon 13.Hedwig's Lament/Exquisite Corpse by Yoko Ono & Yo La Tengo 14.Wicked Little Town (Tommy Gnosis' version) by The Bens (Ben Kweller, Ben Folds, & Ben Lee) 15.Midnight Radio by Cyndi Lauper & The Minus 5 16.Origin of Love reprise by Jonathan Richman Hedwig热从1998年首演燃烧到了2003年，这群乐界的老手和後起新秀聚在一起灌录 了这张唱片，名为『Wig in a Box: Songs From & Inspired By Hedwig & The Angry Inch』，同时间还在上大学的我窝在山丘上的文院教室里，被The Origin of Love感动到喉咙很痛那种；然後再三年，这张唱片飘过了大西洋到了念完硕士的在 下手中。至今为止八年了，喜爱Hedwig and the Angry Inch的乐迷、影迷、戏迷已 遍布世界各地并迅速增加中。这是一种集体意识，一起低头拭泪、释放无声的呐喊， 当然更不放弃追寻那令我们动容不已的『爱的源起』。 曾经在一篇文章里看过，喜爱Hedwig的人称自己和同夥为Hedheads (海德薇的头？)。 或许是因为Hedwig那顶假发真的太引人注目了，这张唱片也是以Wig in a Box这首歌 来命名。整张的营利所得全数捐给Harvey Milk School，一所位於纽约East Village， 专收同性、变性、双性与边缘少年的高中。唱片里令Hedheads惊讶并如获至宝的一首 歌是这部戏的创作者及主角：John Cameron Mitchell和他老搭档Steven Trask合作 的Milford Lake。John Cameron Mitchell的声音依旧具有令人屏息的穿透力，而编曲 和歌词也都有一定水准，成就了另一首Hedwig系列的上上之作！这第一段歌词： I used to live in a town underneath Milford Lake you can throw a rock from here you might hit my house if you try, who will know, I dont mind there used to be a road, I suppose there might still be, for a crab or a fish 很具想像力的歌词，beautiful and dreamy。就整首意思猜测，这个湖底的家可能 是Hedwig还跟Tommy Gnosis在一起时住的地方。而现在回到这里的Hedwig，站在湖 边回想过去，试着寻找『piece of you，piece of me』，但是已经历经太多事情， 似乎是回不去了(can't come clean)。这首歌替整个故事多添一层新意，颇有後记 与番外篇的味道。 除了Milford Lake外，我特别喜爱的还有The Breeders版本的Wicked Little Town， 另外Cyndi Lauper引吭高歌Midnight Radio配上曲尾的大和声也令人印象深刻。第11 首Ladies & Gentlemen是喜剧艺人Stephen Colbert的杰作，这位Stephen平常主持一 个类似joke news的节目，所以当他以报新闻口吻朗读Tear Me Down里那一句"On August 13th..."时，搞笑效果十足。整张CD我比较受不了的是YOKO ONO版的Hedwig's Lament/Exquisite Corpse，很哀痛很心碎的一首歌YOKO却在最後鬼吼鬼叫，吓到我 了><.... 或许身为艺术家的YOKO有她诠释『精致屍体』的方式，不过却完全坏了我 对整首歌的美好印象，一个字，糟。 The Origin of Love 共由两位艺人重新编曲演唱，Rufus Wainwright 和 Jonathan Richman (reprise)。Rufus版本听一次并不怎麽样，多听几遍後发现少了原本的愤怒 与哀伤，却另外增加一种『that's the way it is, and I accept it』的体悟，越听 越舒服。倒是Jonathan Richman版本，经由木吉他重新编曲後，虽然带进了一股轻快 的风格，不过明朗的节奏和戏弄般的唱腔也让这首歌的原始精神丧失殆尽，让人完全 无法与Hedwig连接起来。说到底，最钟爱的还是回归 John Cameron Mitchell的原始 版本 ^_^。 这张唱片据说台北的小白兔有进，fan of Hedwig别忘了去收购一张！推荐！ -- we come and go so fast looking for what lasts --
