要单独发那张DVD了 but 台湾看来可能要靠进口了 hello friends. sorry we've been out of touch for a bit, but as you probably know, we've been out on tour in the U.S. since OCT. 1st...and it's been REALLY busy....so here's some news. ** TWO T.V. APPEARANCES COMING UP in the U.S. ** ------------------------- THIS SATURDAY, NOV. 16th *** on MAD TV *** 11:00 pm EST on your local FOX channel (they'll get 2 songs on this one) ------------------------- --also ------------------------- THURSDAY, NOV. 28th *** on Late Show with DAVID LETTERMAN *** 11:30pm EST on your local CBS channel (this is NOT a repeat...it's a new performance) ------------------------- ABOUT THE DVD-SINGLE.... so, for all you folks who didn't want to go out and buy IS THIS IT when you already had it just for the bonus DVD, we're making good on our promise and releasing JUST the DVD next week at select stores all over the U.S. (a list of the "Coalition of Independent Music Stores" record shops that will be carrying the DVD can be found at www.thestrokes.com in the NEWS section piece relating to the DCD) ** NOVEMBER 19th in SELECT indie record stores** THE STROKES DVD-single "THE VIDEOS AND MORE" the DVD will include the SAME EXACT stuff that the bonus one that came with IS THIS IT has... "LAST NITE" (video) "HARD TO EXPLAIN" (uncensored video) "SOMEDAY" (video) "THE MODERN AGE" (un-aired from MTV2 $2-bill special) "NEW YORK CITY COPS"(un-aired from MTV2 $2-bill special) -LISTEN UP, U.K. & Ireland! *about the DVD-single... we're aiming on releasing it ** DEC. 9th** (or as you say.... 9 DEC.) it will be identical to the one that is coming out in the U.S. and should be available at most any store that sells CDs/DVDs in the U.K. and Ireland *pick up this week's NME, THE STROKES are on the cover...with a lot of photos inside and big live review of our L.A. show last week .... --(no news on other countries for the DVD single, when i have it i'll post it on the website)-- -OYE! TODOS LOS GENTE QUE HABLA ESPANOL! *there is an ONLINE fanclub just for SPANISH SPEAKING STROKES FANS. it's called "NO SHORTCUTS" http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NoShortcuts/ it's run by a really sweet girl named Sinyi that we met in Salt Lake City, so check it out... -NOMINATED for MTV EUROPE MUSIC AWARD- *THE STROKES were nominated for "BEST NEW INTERNATIONAL ACT" at the MTV Europe Music Awards on Thursday, NOV. 14th..... and we lost....to The Calling. congrats to them! -TOUR UPDATE- the US tour continues on, we're in El Paso today....10 more dates left, and then the band will be starting to write and record the next album....working title: "YES, THIS IS IT" just kidding, that's just a joke. actually, there's no working title, but they have 5 songs written which they've been playing throughout this tour.... everyone is safe and sound, and the fans have been VERY supportive and lots of fun to talk to after and before the shows.... lucas (our lighting guy) continues to play practical jokes on everyone (matt, mostly)...and matt (our "everything" guy) continues to look exactly like fab, strangely enough. i continue to set up my laptop from hotel to hotel room and type e-mails and blab on my cell phone with "record label" types and other assorted "music biz" folks in an effort to further my band's career. fab got a new drum head (modeled after the famous "beatles" logo design) from his friends at Ludwig, and jules knee seems to be healing nicely...albert and nick are just albert and nick...and nikolai had a birthday this past wednesday, Nov. 13th....juliet bought him a travel "Battleship" board-game and "A Farewell to Arms" by Hemingway. ------------- -FUTURE TOURING PLANS for 2003- the question that 90% of you e-mail me about....so, here's the answer.... * after this tour that we're on now ends (NOV. 29th)....we will not be doing ANYMORE touring until the completion of the 2nd album....not sure how long this will take.....but MOST LIKELY not until MAY or JUNE 2003. around that time, we hope to tour europe, japan, australia, south america, mexico, & north america again.....but we just don't know WHEN that will all start and IF it will be possible to get to all those places before year-end. ..so WE JUST DON'T KNOW YET exactly when we'll be on tour again... hang in there....give the band some time to make this 2nd album a GREAT one, and then we'll see how much of the world we can cover.... i promise, as soon as we have ANY news on when and where we'll start touring again, i'll e-mail you guys and i'll keep the website updated with our plans throughout this period of DEC 2002 to MAY 2003 while the band is NOT on tour. hopefully that will answer lots of questions.... ------------- that's about all the news that i have for now..... will touch base with you all closer to the end of the tour.... -ryan the strokes wiz kid mgmt. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ 123 E.7th St. NY, NY 10009 --
