The deal is subject to the player receiving international clearance and being granted a visa, the Loftus Road club confirmed on their official website on Wednesday evening. The vastly-experienced keeper is set for his first stint in the Premier League after seven years in Italy with Inter - during which time he won the UEFA Champions League and five Serie A titles. The signing of Cesar, capped 64 times for Brazil, is being viewed as quite a coup for the Hoops and manager Mark Hughes is delighted to welcome the 32-year-old shot-stopper. "It's fantastic that we've been able to attract a keeper of such outstanding ability to the club," said Hughes. "When the opportunity to sign a player of his quality presents itself, you have to act quickly and we've managed to get the deal done. It was always my intention to bring two goalkeepers to the club this summer and now we've got fantastic competition in that department." He added: "He's an outstanding individual, as well as being an outstanding player. Not only will we benefit from his ability, but we'll also benefit from his experience and winning mentality." The Brazilian, who will wear the number 33 shirt, will provide competition for fellow summer signing Robert Green, who has had an uneven start to life at Loftus Road since arriving from West Ham, enduring a nightmare debut in the 5-0 defeat against Swansea. Cesar, Hughes' ninth signing of the summer, is looking forward to getting started with his new club. He said: "I'm so happy and excited to be here. The ambition of this club was presented to me by the chairman and the coach and I couldn't have been more impressed. The desire to achieve things at this club is clear for everyone to see and I wanted to be part of that. I have come here to compete for the shirt and give my all."
