It was the Selecao's second successive victory under Menezes and the coach is very happy with his team's progress. "It was necessary to take a different approach to the match today because Iran were intent on closing us down," said Menezes in the post-match press conference. "I made a tactical change in the second half because we were having some difficulty playing our usual offensive game. [Philippe] Coutinho was too isolated and Robinho too open on the sideline and it overloaded Carlos Eduardo in the middle. "When Elias came in, we then moved another player closer to Alexandre Pato, so I think we improved because of the substitutions."
