Won't you descend from the throne from where you sit Let me feel your love one more time, before I abandon it. -- Abandoned Love, Bob Dylan, 1975 == Abandoned Love, "Bitter End" (Other End), 1975/7/3, New York City 这次就不给代码了，直接从 RS 下载，理由後面会提到： http://rapidshare.de/files/16774858/AbandonedLove.mp3.html http://www.edlis.org/twice/threads/abandoned_love.html (这版本的歌词) 据 Clinton Heylin 在 Stolen Moments 这本书的考据，Abandoned Love 大约是在 6/29~7/3 这几天写的，所以这次提供的版本是Abandoned Love 最原始的样貌，也是目前唯一已知的现场版。 在已知的纪录中，Dylan 只唱过三次 Abandoned Love，第一次就是这个 版本，後面两次是三个星期以後的 7/31，在哥伦比亚录音室为了Desire 的录音而唱，其中第一个 take 收进了 Biograph；值得一提的是，唱完 两次 Abandoned Love 以後，紧接着唱的 Sara 成为正式的 take，被收 进Desire 里，如果我们试着把这两首歌串在一起听，或许更能体会七五 年 7/31 号当天，Dylan 录音时的心情。 作为 Dylan 乐迷最没有办法理解的，就是像 Abandoned Love 这种完全 可以取代 Desire任何一首的歌曲、这种延续 Blood on the Tracks里， 精准地诠释男人对纠缠错节感情的杰作，为什麽要到十年後的Biograph 才发表？ 故事要从 Abandoned Love 的背景开始讲起。 1966 年 Dylan 摩托车车祸以後，他只在极少数的场合露过面（从 1966 年 6 月到 1973 年底，他总共不过唱了 33 首歌），当时乐迷都以为 Royal Albert Hall 将是 Dylan最後一场的演唱会。没想到 1974 年初， Dylan 与 The Band 办了空前轰动的巡回演唱，短短两个月内唱了 40 场 ，卖出的门票如果换算成人数，将占 1974 年美国人口的百分之四。 这场巡回在2/14的洛杉矶结束，也是 Dylan 与老婆 Sara Lowndes 感情 正式生变的开始。或许是 Sara 认为 Dylan 在巡回演唱中冷落了她、或 许是传说中 Dylan 的毒品问题、更或许是长年以来谣传 Dylan 的affair ，两人关系出现裂痕的理由，由於 Dylan 对私人消息向来低调的缘故， 我们已经无法得知。 无论如何，即使 Dylan 返回加州 Malibu的家中与 Sara 团聚，试着挽回 感情，他的努力并没有成功，两人不久就分居了；七四年四月底， Dylan 独自到纽约与Norman Raeben学了两个月的画，又在Minnesota买了座农场 ，把五个小孩接来团聚，并谱写 Blood on the Tracks里的大多数歌曲； 如果要问 BotT 里阴沈抑郁从何而来，理由应该就在婚姻的困境吧。 之後两人分分合合，最终在 1977 年离婚，Dylan 对挽回婚姻的努力，可 以从六六年镶嵌着 Sara 名字的 Sad-eyed lady of the lowlands 里 「Your Spanish manners and your mother's drugs, And your cowboy mouth and your curfew plugs, Who among them do you think could resist you? 」到 Abandoned Love 里唱着「Won't you descend from the throne from where you sit. Let me feel your love one more time, before I abandon it.」这样的转变中体会得到。 最後来聊一下这场录音。 这其实是 Rambling Jack Elliott 在纽约一家名唤 Bitter End 的俱乐 部的小型演唱会（或者应该说是客串驻唱？），Dylan 只是来凑热闹的XD 後来 Dylan 应 Rambling Jack Elliott 的要求，於是唱了刚写完没多久 的 Abandoned Love；其中一位听众叫 Joe Kivak，他本来只想跟 RJE 学吉他，带了录音设备要录回家「温习」，却恰好录下了 Abandoned 最 原始、也最动人的版本。 Joe Kivak 的录音很早就在乐迷间流传，这次给大家抓的版本，是一位叫 stewART（大小写没打错）的乐迷，把 Joe Kivak 原始的 tape 重新remaster 过，让吉他的部分更清晰。 enjoy :) -- he examines the nightingale's code still written on the fish truck that loads my conscience explodes the harmonicas play the skeleton keys in the rain and these visions of Johanna are all that remain... -- Seems Like a Freeze-Out / Dylan --
