Blur are considering playing gigs in the US and throughout Europe, their
promoter Steve Homer has revealed.
Homer, who first promoted the band in 1990, said that the US gigs could come
around the same time as Blur's summer gigs in the UK.
"They have been rehearsing for some time now, for several months," he told
Billboard.biz. "There are no plans beyond T In The Park (July 12) and Oxegen
(July 10). They are talking about some American shows still in the same time
frame. There are possibilities of some European ones as well."
The band's only confirmed foreign appearance at present is Lyon's Les Nuits
De Fourviere festival, which takes place on July 5.
Homer added that since Blur announced they were to play two massive gigs in
London's Hyde Park this summer (July 2/3), he has fielded a number of requests
from other bands who are considering reuniting for similar shows.
"At the moment we are talking to a number of acts that have expressed an
interest following the success [of ticket sales] of Blur in Hyde Park.
There are acts that are talking about reuniting but there are acts that are
just looking at it as part of an outdoor plan outside of festivals," he said.
