The Norwegian is a keen admirer of the Paraguayan's talents and believes he can have the same kind of impact as the likes of Spanish star Fernando Torres at Liverpool. "Roque is a very good player," insisted the winger. "He is good in the air, good with the ball at his feet, has pace and is a strong lad. "He is a little bit like Torres. He has a lot of positives and it is really good to play alongside him. "He has scored goals already, but I don't think we have seen the best of him yet, he is only going to get even better." Boss Mark Hughes believes that with the signing of Santa Cruz he has got one of the bargains of the summer. Rovers secured the services of the Paraguay international for ￡3.3m from Bundesliga side Bayern Munich, a fee which looks a snip compared to prices paid for other forwards in the Barclays Premier League. "I think Roque has proved in the short space of time that we've had with him that he's a top quality striker," said Hughes. "Obviously the price that I was able to acquire him for makes him one of the best buys certainly this summer if not for many summers. "I think he has the potential to be an outstanding player for us for a long-long time." The Lancashire club beat a host of other sides to the signature of the 26 year-old, both in the Premier League and across Europe, most notably from Spain and Portugal, but Mark Hughes saw enough qualities in the player to make a concerted effort to sign Santa Cruz. "I think a lot of people looked at Roque, and sometimes if you look too closely at players you look at all their negatives rather than their positives, and I think that is what has happened with Roque.
