意思是说(这是解释,不是翻译喔),IS 里头的基因,只有负责(将 IS 自己)
插入其他位置的功能,Tn 除了这些基因外还含有和插入功能无关的基因,如抗药
性基因等等。IS 因为并不带有其他基因,所以通常不能当作遗传工程的工具(比
如说送一个基因到 genome里面)。但是,IS 很容易造成自然状态下的突变,所以
多了解它的性质还是很重要(relevant)的。最後要说的是对於 IS 的定义是非常
武断的,有时 IS 内还是有其他基因产物,只是被我们忽略了而已(所以它应该是
Tn)。
