The Ph.D. candidate is expected to hold a B.S. degree in biochemistry, microbiology, or chemical engineering from a prestigious academic institution, possess enthusiasm in the scientific discovery, and be interested in developing engineering solutions for real-world issues. Successful candidates will be sponsored by SCBE, which includes a full-tuition waiver and a monthly stipend for living expenses. Two laboratory researcher positions (Postdoc, Associate, or Assistant) are immediately available. Applicants are expected to have hands-on experience in microbial fermentation, bioreactor, and chromatography operations; in the carbohydrate synthesis, purification, and structural analysis; or in the microbial community analysis, next-generation sequencing, and bioinformatics. English proficiency is desired, but further language training could be performed on site.
