“Birthday”和Paul另一首”Wonderful Christmastime”一样
这类关於节庆的歌多少有点刻意
毕竟创作者期望节庆时人们会播放这首歌
“Birthday”开始几小节後就失去稳定
鼓来得突然 吼叫来得突然
想到什麽就跳出什麽 许多歌词没头没尾
或许正因如此
Paul说这首歌是<White Album>唯一一首50%-50% Lennon-McCartney song
John对此曲只说“it was a piece of garbage”
所以我们可以怀疑Paul记错了百分比
虽然“Birthday”没有前卫的特效 没有深沉的隐喻
但它能炒热气氛 我想这样就够了
用做<White Album>下半场的开场是非常适合的

Paul经常唱这首歌
“Birthday”是<Back in the World Tour>(2003)固定曲目
2014年披头四访问美国50周年的电视特别节目上
Paul表演了7首披头四歌曲 其中就有”Birthday”
另外1990年他重新发行了现场版的”Birthday”单曲
