Agreement with the new assistants was reached last week with only final contract details to be worked out. Williams is one of the Blazers' all-time greats, ranking No. 7 on The Oregonian's list of best Blazers. Bickerstaff and McMillan have a long association dating back to McMillan's playing days in Seattle. Ociepka and Bickerstaff were assistants in Chicago last season. The new coaches replace Monty Williams, who became the head coach of New Orleans; Maurice Lucas, who retired because of illness; and Dean Demopoulos and Joe Prunty, whose contracts were not renewed.
