Post Season Interviews.. Nate: "Zach wants to stay" 1080 The Fan is playing clips from the post-season interviews at the Blazer practice facility. Nash: Mostly said the company line. "We're in a better situation right now than we were last year at this time because of Nate." He was also very pleased with how well Martell came on at the end of the season. There were some legal reasons why he couldnt talk about underclassmen in the draft at this time, so he didnt talk much about Adam Morrison. He did however answer a question when asked if he would be worried about Morrison's lack of defense. He answered; "Most guys when they come in the NBA cant play defense. Guys like Martell and Travis couldnt play summer league defense but have becomecompetent defenders in a very short period of time. So I'm not worried about something like that." Nate: He talked mostly about Zach and Darius. As everyone knows, Nate talked to Darius before the season started, at that time, Darius had told him he didnt want to play here but was willing to give him a full season. Nate then talked with Darius this morning and he still feels the same way he did last summer. He wants the team to look to trade him and they will do that. However, Nate is approaching the situation as though Darius will be back next year. "Just because a guy wants to be traded doesnt mean hecan be traded." Now, heres the shocker... Nate talked to Zach earlier today and basicly asked him the same question he asked Darius. "I know what he told you guys in the media, but I spoke with Zach earlier today and he told me that he wants to be back next season. Earlier he was very frustrated with everything, but he made it know that he wants to stay here. So I am very encouraged by that." Nate on Martell... "He got the size to be a really good 2 guard in this league. I played him at the 2 and the 3 this year, but he is a legit 2 guard. I forsee him getting a lot of minutes next year."
