拓荒者前锋 Shareef Abdur-Rahim 在星期二（9/28）表示他将会如期的参加
季前训练营，为整个事件做一个结束。
他说：「我将会准时。」
Abdur-Rahim 在六月的时候承诺如果拓荒者不将他交易出去，他会坚持他的立
场（拒绝参加季前训练营）。
但是在星期二（9/28）的时候，表示当时他相当沮丧，及不想伤害他多年的好
名誉。
他说：「I don't think ... that's the way I've carried myself.There's
no reason for me to go that way right now. ... I've been done with it.
I've come to the realization that I've just got to go play, contribute,
help the team.」
Abdur-Rahim，前明星球员，在去年 2 月一桩交易中来到拓荒者，却一直在担任
Randolph 的替补上挣扎，Abdur-Rahim 交易前在老鹰缴出 20.1 分、9.3 篮板，
但来到拓荒者後却只有 10.0 分、4.5 篮板，上场时间也从 36.9 分钟骤降为
22.8 分钟。
Abdur-Rahim 对於他所扮演的角色，心情显得相当低落，但是在夏天到来前，一
直没有将他希望被交易的希望和坚持公开。
Abdur-Rahim 的名字被卷入多件交易传言中，包括与 Kerry Kittles、Aaron Williams
、选秀权，以及最近的 Jason Kidd。
交易仍有可能，但是并非一定。
Abdur-Rahim 说：「I've really been off of that for a long time now,I was
frustrated for my own reasons. It doesn't make (sense) to really elaborate
on what my frustrations were. I know it doesn't help the team; it doesn't
help me.The best thing for everybody is for me to continue doing what I do.」
总管 John Nash 表示他希望见到 3 个前锋的 rotation - Randolph、Miles 担任大
小前锋，Abdur-Rahim 则是大小前锋的替补。Abdur-Rahim 比较希望能够打大前锋，
但是他在灰雄时却是打小前锋的位置。
Abdur-Rahim：「I just want to play,All that will take care of itself. I'm
just preparing myself to play. I'll be in shape. I'll be ready to play.
That's my responsibility. As far as all the rest of the stuff, that's up
to coach (Maurice) Cheeks. Whatever he decides to do, he decides to do.
Whatever he feels is best for the team is best for the team.」
Abdur-Rahim 在季前跟队友、教练参加了在亚特兰大的练习，接下来又参加在休士顿
的练习，其他拓荒者的球员有的只有参加一项练习。
Abdur-Rahim：「I've never been a part of that, where guys traveled to a city
they don't live in,Hopefully, it carries over to the season.」
Nash 说他注意到目前球队正围绕着一股较好的「professionalism」气氛，因为去年
以西区第 10 名，和 21 年来首度没有近季後赛的刺激。
重回季後赛看来难度增加了许多，虽然 Shaquille O'Neal 已经去东区，但金块补进
Kenyon Martin，爵士补进 Carlos Boozer 和 Mehmet Okur，太阳补进 Steve Nash、
Quentin Richardson，火箭藉由交易也换到了 Tracy McGrady。
拓荒者最大的补强则是换到了 Nick Van Exel，签回 Miles，及新秀 Sebastian Telfair
，在星期二（9/28）延长了与 Ratliff 的合约。
Abdur-Rahim：「I think we're still right there,If you think about how we
played at the end of the year ... we can compete with any team.」
星期一开始了训练营，而 Abdur-Rahim 仍在这里。
