Currently pursuing field studies in Taiwan for his dissertation on the Environmental movement in Post- authoritarian Taiwan, Mark will first be introducing his current research project which mostly revolves around Social Movement Theory. Apart from that the ERCCT(European Research Center on Contemporary Taiwan) will be introduced, which is jointly financed by the University of Tuebingen (Germany) and the Chiang Ching-kuo Foundationfor International Scholarly Exchange (Taiwan). Its major objective is to promote postgraduate social science research on contemporary Taiwan, most notably in the areas of politics and law, economics, society and cross-strait relations.
