Oh, and there's that small detail about his asking price -- $30 million a year seems to be a starting point, which is ridiculous by anyone's standards. He's best suited as a reliever. I do not know if he can succeed as a closer again. I do know that right now he's the Astros' best ninth-inning option. And who knows, they may bid on soon-to-be free agents Aaron Rowand or Mike Cameron. That's $18 million per year, so Jones probably will ask for even more.
