Chamberlain to stay at Saints
Duo to keep tabs on winger
Oxlade-Chamberlain had looked set to join former Saints trainee Theo Walcott
at the Emirates earlier this month until Manchester United firmed up their
interest.
However, sources close to the player have now indicated a deal to sign the
player has stalled after it looked like United would gazump their rivals with
a late bid.
The news is sure to delight Saints manager Nigel Adkins who had insisted all
along that he did not want the player to leave St Mary's this month.
Oxlade-Chamberlain played against United in the FA Cup on Saturday but never
looked like adding to the seven goals he has notched already this term.
It is believed United and Arsenal will continue to monitor the England Under
18 international with the view to making a summer bid for the teen sensation.
