They just need a little more self-belief ... and some of the old Tony Adams-Martin Keown fire in their bellies. Henry has been training with Arsene Wenger’s stars before returning to America where he plays for New York Red Bulls. And it has given the club’s all-time leading scorer the chance of a unique close-up of the Arsenal team as they chase a first trophy since winning the FA Cup in 2005. The 33-year-old Frenchman said: “Arsenal can do it this season, I am certain of that – they can win the title. “They just need to believe – the only thing missing is that self-belief because everything else is in place. “I have trained with them, and the intensity, skill and desire are all there. All that’s missing is the confidence to believe you can do it. “No one is playing the kind of - football they are able to produce, so they are very close to winning the league again.” But there have been question marks over skipper Cesc Fabregas, with team-mate Denilson insinuating that the Spaniard, although a fabulously gifted player, is no leader. There were no leadership issues when Henry played for Arsenal – and he still winces at the battering he used to take in training. Henry clearly remembers the likes of Adams and Keown ‘educating’ him in the art of being a Gunner. He said: “We had players who - believed we would win. And you had to be the same, otherwise ... look out! “When I arrived in 1999 I’d won the World Cup with France and then a year later we won the European - Championship. “But that did not stop them roughing me up in training. They wanted me to understand what it was like to play for Arsenal. What it was like to play for Arsenal against Tottenham – so they kicked me! Well, Martin did. “Guys like Adams, Keown, Lee Dixon, Nigel Winterburn and David Seaman never believed they were second best. “Those players instilled in me what it meant to be an Arsenal player – they helped make me the player I was with Arsenal. “The game is a little different now and maybe players would not get away with doing that to their own team-mates, but it showed me what it meant to them to play for Arsenal. “They wanted every player to feel the same and after what they ‘taught’ me I certainly did!” Henry was one of Arsenal’s title-winning Invincibles – but this season it is rivals Manchester United who remain on course to go through an entire season unbeaten. Henry added: “United have a chance to be Invincibles like we were in 2004. “People have asked me if they can do it. Yes, of course they can. Anything is - possible when you have the - confidence and belief. “But Chelsea can still come again – it’s not too late for them. They have to play United twice so they still have a chance if they win those games. “Manchester City are strong, too, but for Arsenal the league title can be theirs this season and I think Arsene knows that. If the players believe it then they will win.” Henry admits much of his motivation came not just from the boot of team-mates, but also from abusive fans. He said: “I miss the away games in England where fans would be - having a go at you. The only way to answer them was to score and when you did, there was no feeling like it. I will - always miss that. “Playing in England is one of the most - exciting things for a - footballer. In America there is not the same amount of - pressure, so it’s a different experience. “Football is part of life in England whereas in America it’s still a growing professional sport. “The fans who go do get - behind their team, but nothing could match a game against Tottenham or Manchester United for passion.
