在星期二晚从预备队比赛退出後，科里‧吉尔伯特租借至League One的Southend成疑。
20岁的後卫上赛季同样被租借到Cardiff，他意识到在Southend一线队的机会渺茫，9月8日
对Gillingham打了最後一场比赛。
他在对彼德堡的比赛打了22分钟退场後与预备队教练奥斯丁交流了几句。
「我不想评论什麽」奥斯丁说，「有个情况需要他马上处理」。
