The Gunners boss was pictured leaving a restaurant with former vice-chairman David Dein, who was forced out of the club over his support for Stan Kroenke's takeover bid. And after his side beat Inter Milan 2-1 to lift the Emirates Cup, Wenger said: "Since I have been at Arsenal I have never owned a single share in the club and I have no influence on the shareholders. "I have never wanted to be involved in that battle, so what is happening around the club now is not my problem. "I am simply an employee whose responsibility is the technical performance of the team. "I had dinner with David last week but we did not discuss the future of the club. "He just asked me how things are going and how the team is doing. "I was friends with David before I joined Arsenal, I was friends with him during his stay here and I am still friends with him now. It is as simple as that. "For a long period our friendship was mixed with the life of the club. Now it is no longer mixed." Wenger added: "We created many chances against Inter and played the way we wanted.
