Arsene's big Gun

ARSENE WENGER is close to landing Nikola Zigic, the world’s tallest
professional player.
The Arsenal boss has had secret talks with the 6ft 10in Serbian striker’s
advisors.
Red Star Belgrade want around ￡7million for the prolific Zigic, 25, and
Wenger is keen to tie up a deal before the World Cup in June.
The Gunners boss fears the asking price could DOUBLE once Zigic’s skills are
showcased for Serbia and Montenegro in Germany.
Wenger is a confirmed admirer of 6ft 7in England hitman Peter Crouch.
But the Highbury boss is also well aware Zigic is far superior to the
Liverpool striker with the ball on the ground.
Zigic hit six Champions League goals as the Serbian League leaders went out
at the group stage before Christmas.
And there is plenty of competition to sign the striker, who has just been
voted Serbia and Montenegro's player of the year for the second time in three
years.
