University of Minho 土木系开奖学金招两位博士生, 研究领域为石造结构监测与维护, 与古蹟保存相关. The Department of Civil Engineering at University of Minho / Portugal wants to hire two PhD students, in the framework of externally funded R&D contracts. The work will be developed in the framework of structural engineering, namely with respect to innovative solutions for masonry structures, durability and reliability of structures, structural health monitoring or improved and innovative techniques for structural diagnosis. We are looking for motivated individuals with sound knowledge of mechanics of materials and structures, able to develop individual work, capable of innovation, and strongly attracted to the field. Very good knowledge of English is an important requirement. The grant value is about 1000 euro/month for a PhD (tax free), being the city of Guimaraes well below the average living cost in European Union (EU15). The works should be started as soon as possible, being the PhD grant for a preliminary period of 12 months, which can be renewed up to 36 months.
