The Australian tells Telegraph Sport how her next-door neighbour encouraged her to take up the sport and how packing and unpacking is the only drawback of life on tour. After having a couple of really good years playing doubles and making it to No 1, it does take a little bit of focus away and you’re always at the end of tournaments with doubles meaning you can’t prepare as well for the next singles event. I maybe had to tweak what I was doing a little bit, but I wouldn’t change the way I’ve done it, you do things for a reason and I’ve had lots of great memories on the doubles court. Maybe it was a different scenario to those other three matches, but I think at the end of the day Francesca played a fantastic match. She obviously had her game plan and she executed it absolutely 100 per cent. Maybe I was a little bit tighter, but it is a grand slam final so you never really know how you’re going to react to that. Yes it’s hard to work on being able to handle pressure situations but you can ’t work on that on a practice court. You have to win matches to get yourself to that point to be able to prepare for it. When you start doing it more often it definitely becomes easier to handle, and you can analyse things a bit better. Q.处理在大比赛中的压力，需要时间和经验的累积吗? My next door neighbour gave me a racket for Christmas when I was about eight years-old and I just always enjoyed playing. I begged my older brother to go down to the local courts with me and play. Since I was about 10 I said I wanted to be professional and be No 1 in the world and win a grand slam. They were my dreams as a little kid and I guess now I’m able to live it. I watched the whole match and didn’t leave my seat. I wanted to be there and was so lucky that mum and dad could do it. Q.你的网球偶像是? We get to travel the world and see so many different places. I’ve met some wonderful people along the way at tournaments who welcome you into their home and you stay in touch with them. The negatives? I think maybe early on at the start of your career when you’ re doing the hard yards - but it gives you motivation to get better. Packing and unpacking bags are two of my least favourite things on the planet and I have to do them every week, but that’s the way it goes. Q.成为职业网球选手最棒和最糟的事?
