He joined the club in the summer of 2005 as part of Luciano Spalletti's backroom staff to provide technical and tactical analysis of opponents, the two having previously worked together at Udinese after meeting on a coaching course at Coverciano. Andreazzoli left Roma when Spalletti joined Zenit but later returned to work alongside Vincenzo Montella and then Luis Enrique, helping both coaches with tactical aspects and acting as a mediator with the players. The 59-year-old was kept on in the same role following Zdenek Zeman's appointment last summer. Blessed with extensive football knowledge and now completely at home in Trigoria, Andreazzoli achieved cult status in 2006 when Taddei pulled off a stunning piece of trickery in a Champions League match against Olympiakos and the Brazilian then dubbed the move 'an Aurelio' after the coach who taught it to him.
