Ranieri has apparently been struck by Burdisso's determination since his move on loan from Inter last summer and feels that adding another Argentine like him to Roma's defence would be a good thing. Roma's chief scouts Carlo Iacomuzzi and Stefano Desideri have made two scouting trips to Argentina where they have been impressed by Estudiantes centre-back Marcos Angeleri (pictured). The highly rated 27-year-old almost joined Lazio last summer only to suffer a knee injury that put paid to the transfer. Il Corriere understands Angeleri would be prepared to sign a four-year contract worth €600,000 a season just as he agreed with Lazio. Roma are also interested in Angeleri's compatriot, Franco Zuculini, a defensive midfielder who plays for Hoffenheim in Germany.
