This has led to strong reports that he will be offloaded in the summer, possibly back to Cagliari, who still own half of his contract. Esposito’s hometown club Napoli have also been linked. “I still haven’t spoken to the club and this isn’t the time because we are playing for important objectives and the priority is to finish the season well,” he stated. “I expected to play more, but nobody is guaranteed a place. I am happy to be a part of such a big team and I would like to stay here. “But if I were to continue playing so little then I would have to talk to the club about it.” Esposito was handed a rare starting place yesterday evening during the 1-0 Coppa Italia semi final first leg win over Catania in Rome.
