Gamberini was one of the Viola's stars of last season and earned the call-up to Italy's Euro 2008 squad after skipper Fabio Cannavaro picked up an untimely injury. There have been rumours in Europe's Press that German champions Bayern Munich have been considering uniting Gamberini with fellow Azzurri star Luca Toni at the Allianz Arena, but they seem to be unfounded. 「I can say that there has been no contact with Bayern and I actually heard the rumour from you for the first time,」 agent Francesco Romano told Tuttomercatoweb.it. 「There is nothing to report, but of course it is flattering to hear that such a club are interested in my client. 「To reiterate, Alessandro is happy in Florence and his future is there. 「How is Gamberini's Azzurri adventure going?
