However, Serie C Arezzo's fragile financial situation caused the transfer to stall and Ranocchia has been forced to ply his trade in the third tier. Fiorentina have struggled for strength in depth in defence this term and would still welcome the addition of Ranocchia and it looks increasingly likely that a deal could be done.
