The Bulgarian wants to prove himself at the Stadio Franchi after an unsuccessful spell on loan at Juventus last term, but it seems that a contract row may see that desire disappear. The club want to tie him down to a longer agreement as soon as possible seeing as he would have Bosman status next summer, but the youngster seems in no rush to commit. 「Fiorentina consider his contract renewal as a priority, but it is only secondary for us right now,」 agent Gerry Palomba told the Corriere dello Sport. 「I thank the club for the offer which they have made, but we are in no position to accept it at this stage. 「I can confirm that the player wants to remain because he wants to be a part of the Viola project and is in perfect harmony with Coach Cesare Prandelli. 「As a result, I told Fiorentina that we can discuss the contract issue at a later date seeing as it runs until 2008. 「However, [sporting director Pantaleo] Corvino said no.
