The Italian media has analysed the situation and there are reports that the figure it’ll take to prise the Capocannoniere away from Florence is in the region of ?17m – more than double the ?7m they paid to Palermo for the striker a year ago. His valuation has shot up this season thanks to his club record 31 Serie A goals and strong performances for Italy at the World Cup. It’s believed that Inter’s initial offer was of ?10m, but that they are willing to raise that to ?12.5m at the next round of negotiations, plus Real Majorca defender Alessandro Potenza and an agreement to step aside and allow Fiorentina free reign in the race for Parma’s Daniele Bonera. “Toni is a great player, but he belongs to Fiorentina and I don’t think it’ ll be easy to bring him here.
