The team is without a star shot-stopper following the knee ligament injury that will keep Sebastien Frey sidelined for the next three months. There have been reports of an exchange of loans with Inter, sending Valeri Bojinov to the San Siro for the return of former Viola hero Toldo, and a bid for Lazio's Matteo Sereni, but today another theory has emerged. Pagliuca was one of Serie A's most consistent goalkeepers last season, even if he couldn't prevent Bologna's relegation. The 39-year-old would appreciate the opportunity to have one more shot at the top flight, especially as only one game would allow him to match Dino Zoff's tally of 570 Serie A appearances. Pagliuca is also only 10 caps away from Paolo Maldini's all-time record, which hasn't moved of late due to his recurring knee problems. “Although we have not yet received any offer from Fiorentina, we would be willing to discuss any incoming proposal,” explained Bologna director general Renato Zaccarelli.
